    What exercise do I do? Not explained

    • @AlethaHealth

      You need to release the tension in the key muscles the video talks about, such as the iliacus and the piriformis. Once those muscles are relaxed, the pelvis will be in a better alignment and the SI joints will be able to move and function better, without pain.

    is it normal to have problems with iliopsoas when you have Ol problems?

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth День тому

      Yes, the iliopsoas and OI are commonly tight together. The iliopsoas is typically what develops tension first, as it is the larger muscle that is used in more daily actions (i.e. sitting, walking, running, etc.). Because the iliopsoas also acts on the hip joint as an external rotator, it makes the other hip external rotators more likely to develop tension. This includes the OI, piriformis, and the other of the "deep 6" hip rotators.

    Hi, I'm loving the hip hook! I noticed that people in the videos are propped up on their elbows while using it. I've been lying fully down with my head turned to one side. Thoughts on this? Thank you!

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 5 днів тому

      That's great to hear! Lying down over the Mark (Hip Hook) is the best position to help the abdominal muscles to fully relax and let the tip sink in deeper to access the iliacus and psoas muscles. Being on the elbows can be a way to increase the pressure (if you can sufficiently relax in that position). That view also helps people see the tool better for videos and ads so they can actually see the product and understand what it's doing. :)

    Can you do this when very pregnant?

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 12 днів тому

      You should not use the Mark (Hip Hook) when pregnant. If you are looking to get your hip flexors released when pregnant, it would be best to see a practitioner for in-person treatment. However, you could skip Step 1 in this sequence and perform Steps 2 & 3 using the Orbit ball and the pelvis realignment exercise.

    For over a year, I've been battling hip pain and seen numerous doctors who have even talked about a hip replacement. My gut told me they were wrong and instead I sought out chiropractic care. I have been seeing an amazing chiropractor who told me to check out your videos and products. I have every single symptom/sign you listed in the video and I am so hopeful to resolve this pain. I finally feel that I have some clarity and that I am not going crazy! I ordered your hip hook this morning!

    You are very misinformed about a skilled practitioner's ability to know very well when we are "holding the pressure long enough, to know we are on the right spot". As a Sports Massage therapist who works with 125 collegiate and professional athletes weekly, I am highly trained to provide the relief purported to be relieved by your interesting tools. As well, your tools are not designed to provide "long lasting relief" as athletes in training are performing repetitive motions continually in their sport and therefor have ongoing re-tightening of certain muscle groups. If this were not the case, I would not have a thriving business working in the D1 University setting. I'm on my way to Swimming Olympic Trials to serve 20 athletes who will need their hip flexors and pec minors released daily. I am interested in your tools for quick relief and will continue to study the reviews to learn more. There is no replacement for the physiotherapist whose skill set includes understanding as to hwo all the muscles that surround each area also need soft tissue manipulation to actually provide relief that is lasting.

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 12 днів тому

      We are all very grateful for rockstars like you who are highly skilled. Finding someone who has your level of skill is rare, which is why tools like these are important to provide options for the 99.9% who don't have access to you. And yes, if you are in a situation where you continue to create muscle tension, you do need repeated treatment. Those reasons can be repeated motions, instability, stress, and trauma.

  • @julzylil

    I can’t feel any muscle tension but have really bad anxiety and Cptsd. Is there anyway to become aware of this tension so I can release it??

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 12 днів тому

      Mental tension and physical tension can impact each other, but it all starts with awareness and understanding of how to best treat it. For your situation, it would be great to talk with a practitioner/therapist to begin identifying what is causing what you're feeling and how to best work towards improving that.

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 26 днів тому

      Muscles like the glute max and glute medius are typically weaker, so there can be a lot of benefit for adding glute/hip strengthening or stability exercises alongside your muscle release routine.

  • @geraldevans2688
    @geraldevans2688 26 днів тому

    Closed or open packed position. All depends if foot is on ground or in air. Also is the glut tight or inhibited? Ext rot? Deep six baby. Pinch also caused by branch of rectus femoris?.

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 26 днів тому

      You're right, you may notice different signs when open or closed chain, standing or lying down, etc. These were just 5 possible (and very common) signs chosen for this video. Tension in the iliacus inhibits the glutes, but they can also develop tension. Since tension in the iliacus pulls the femur into ER, that puts the deep 6 into a position where they also become tight. In our method, we have people treat tension in the hip flexors and deep 6 in the same session. And yes, there may be other tight spots in the rectus femoris or other anterior hip muscles that could be released.

    Considering the iliacus is an external rotater, wouldn't strenghting your internal rotaters improve the iliacus?

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth Місяць тому

      Improving strength in the hip extensors and hip internal rotators can absolutely help reduce and prevent tension from developing in the iliacus. However, if the iliacus is super tense to begin with, it pulls the pelvis into an anteriorly tilted position. This pelvic position closes off the space available to move into hip internal rotation and also makes reaching hip extension more challenging, which would make those exercises less effective. By releasing the tension first, you'll be able to better strengthen into internal rotation and extension because the pelvis will be in a good position to let the hip joint move effectively.

    Yhis is amazing!! Yhis could be the answer to why ive had so much pain and figting this on and off for years! I went to a really good doctor recently who has cutting edge tech and methodologies. He interviewed me and examained me for about 3 hours. He went through my entire medical history since i was a child, both internal and external injuries, diseases, and disorders. Ive never interacted with a doctor like this who was so methodical and meticulous. He noticed right away i had rib flare, right shoilder high, right hip high, seeming leg discrepancy, lateral and rotational pelvic tilt, anterior pelvic tilt. Then he performed ultrasound and nerve test on my whole body and found several, several examples of tendinopathy, down to the tiny muscles and tendons. I was blown away from this information. He recommended a customized PT program to target my weaknesses and the ultrasound findings and several bouts of shockwave therapy and possibly prolotherapy. The shockwave therapy isnt cheap but ive had corticosteroid and PRP injections before, both in my right SI Joint. I dont know if the injections ever helped but i was pain free for the first time since the accident that started my SI joint and hip/glute pain 2 years prior, and that moment occurrd about 6 or 7 months after the PRP shot. I still dont have an explanation why i was pain free and the only thing that might make sense is the PRP injection taking over 6 months to kick in. I was pain free for about 1.5 years before i fell off the wagon with working out and diet and the pain slowly came back. I have been thinking its due to overactive psoas and illac, QL, and weak glutes, but then why the pain only on right? Either my disc bulge is shifted to the right and referring pain or my SI Joint isnt stable. The fibers, tendons, ligaments are stretched and have no proper support. But after watching this video, im wondering if the pelvis being lateral tilted and rotated is why i am having pain! And maybe the hips are uneven and rotated because the tissue is weak. The tendons. The ligaments. Stretched. So thats why it goes back to injection and shockwave, to heal the tendons and ligaments and muscle so that it is strong and flexible to hold everything in proper alignment and balance. If i only do PT, it couod take a long time to build up strength while trying ti figure out how to get my pelvis back in proper alignment. There is no question about the imbalance. It's just a matter of what's the best method to approach.

      If you don't have the Mark (Hip Hook), the best way to release the iliacus would be to see a practitioner for manual treatment. Releasing the back of the hip can be achieved using another massage therapy ball that you may have, or from a practitioner.

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth Місяць тому

      Apply pressure to the iliacus to help it relax/release first. After doing this, it will be much easier to stretch the hips and strengthen opposing muscles like the glutes, hamstrings, and core.

  • @cassieopia532

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth Місяць тому

      It appears that an IG reel or YT short video has replaced the original video. Sorry about that. The way we'd start to reduce hip bursitis pain is by first releasing the tension in the muscles around the hip (hip flexors, TFL, glutes, other deep hip rotators) that may be pulling on and irritating the bursa. This could be followed the stretches and strengthening exercises around the hips, glutes, and core.

    Have you explored using the Mark to release tight QL muscles on the back?

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 2 місяці тому

      Yes, releasing the QL or even the upper psoas attachment near the lumbar spine using the Mark is a very advanced technique.

    How can you tell if your hip is rolled forward or backward? Should we do that exercise if we don't know for sure which it is? I have had trouble with both forward and backward rotation', sometimes one is back and the other is forward, but I can't determine it myself, it all hurts the same.

      @AlethaHealth 2 місяці тому

      The best way to know for sure is to get an assessment from a practitioner and have them tell you which side is more anteriorly rotated. Alternatively, you can try this self-assessment called the supine to sit test. Have a friend help you. ua-cam.com/video/PC6DZcQsiiY/v-deo.htmlsi=hPiux-aHx0dGvWFB&t=229 ***If you don't know which side it is or if the assessments are not conclusive, you can skip the realignment exercise

    Does it help with pinch nerve sciatic pain?

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 2 місяці тому

      Tension and imbalances in the muscles around the lower back, hips, and pelvis can play a role in what leads to a pinched nerve and/or sciatic pain. If this is part of what's causing it for you, then our products like the Mark and the Orbit may help you, just as they've helped others with similar pain. It's best to consult your healthcare practitioner to see if our products are appropriate for you. They may share additional recommendations for how to best incorporate them into your recovery routine alongside other treatments, stretches and exercises.

    where can I go to try this first? I see videos on social media of people at public places - being shown these tools?

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 2 місяці тому

      There are currently no places where you can try our products in person first. The video you saw on social media showed us at a trade show, which we do 1-2x per year. Our two main products, the Mark and the Range, come with a 60-day money-back guarantee (US customers only) to help people try our products risk free.

    Just bought mine. Is there anyway to tell if your using it right? Its around the bone like the video but just very uncomfortable. Is that normal at least at first

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 2 місяці тому

      The pressure may feel intense at first and may be uncomfortable, especially if you are very tight. This will get better over time. Check out our new how-to playlists on UA-cam or on our website (www.alethahealth.com) for more videos on how to use our products.

      @@AlethaHealth is it ok if I press against the hip bone or do I need to be further away towards the middle of my body to be effective

    • @AlethaHealth
      @AlethaHealth 2 місяці тому

      You can be closer to the bone or further. You will want to explore both to find where you are tight, and also be able to address both the psoas and iliacus muscles. The "release zone" has a wide range of space that you can apply pressure. Check out our video that walks you through understanding this region. ua-cam.com/video/bk9OLscKITM/v-deo.htmlsi=LWoi4pSgol4a17Nm

    6 weeks dealing with numbness in my left leg after using hip hook I wish I would have never used this device.

      We're sorry to hear about this and hope you feel better soon. This is not a common experience after using the Mark and this will get better over time. Everyone's body responds differently to irritation of a nerve. Using ice on the area you applied pressure and taking some anti-inflammatories can help. Gentle stretches and movement (i.e. walking) can also be helpful. If you are concerned, please check with your healthcare practitioner for more help. You can also reach out to us at hello@alethasupport.com if you have any questions or need help returning your order for a refund.
